Marc Maron calls the current podcast landscape 'mediocre'

Marc Maron is not interested in being just another podcaster in a sea of mediocrity.

In a new interview, the comic, which recently announced the end of its popular and durable podcast “WTF”, criticized the current podcast landscape as Awash in Meh.

“Things were better before everyone had a voice,” Maron told the Hollywood reporter in an interview published on Wednesday. “Now there are only hundreds of groups of two or three white boys sitting behind mics and the last time they speak-as adults. We live in a world of mediocre radio in the afternoon.”

“A lot wails in provisional studios. It lowers the bar for everything,” he added.

Maron started in 2009 with “WTF” from his garage, where he interviewed guests. Over the years he has spoken to comedians, actors, musicians and even one Sit President. During an episode with the comedian John Mulaney in June, he announced that the show “someday in autumn” would end.

Aversion to mediocrity has been an issue for the comic in the past few weeks. “The world has changed a little and you know, the uniqueness of everything that happens hell,” said Maron during his appearance last week in the podcast “Howie Mandel Cays Things”. “There are enough people in the world.”

In his latest comedy special, Maron makes fun of how certain podcast hosts are to the right in his eyes.

“If Hitler was still alive today, he would probably appear in Theo of the Podcast”, the comedian jokes in “Panicked”, which was premiered on HBO on August 1st.

In his podcast, examined by various topics, including his struggles with drug abuse and mental health, with various guests – which also includes politicians and comedians.

Maron continues a scene in which the comedian of “Last weekend with Theo von” Hitler about the crowd of meth who consumed the Nazis have questions. At some point, Maron of Vonn, who accused the hatred, imitates the Hitler on the amount of drugs he did.

“WTF” continues with episodes that come out on Mondays and Thursdays until it ends in autumn. Before the publication, Maron did not answer a request for a comment.
