The legendary 10 kilometers of male until the spitting landscape is officially reopened after decisive repairs, which ensure that locals and visitors can enjoy the breathtaking views in the coming years.
The extensive and complex repairs included the installation of 40 square meters of new decks, which were retained by hand in over 220 trips with a minimal environmental impact and the integrity of the popular path.
The mayor of the North Beaches, Sue Heins, emphasized how important the upgrades “Sections of this popular walk were repaired over the years, but the wooden stairs and the deck have been slippery and deteriorated. The new cap will ensure that the area is safe for everyone and help us to reduce the costs in the long term,” said Mayor.
“The team not only applied over 50 kilometers by hand to protect the environment, but also innovative opportunities to prepare sections indoors, so that they did not have to lose any tools during the winter storms and the sidewalk for the community could be completed quickly,” added Mayor Heins.
This work is part of the continuing commitment of the Council for maintaining and improving the security and accessibility of local tracks and paths over the northern beaches.
