Mouser now stocks Bourns' HVMA03F4A-LP8S gate driver transformer. This low-profile, high-leakage isolation transformer delivers a switching frequency of 400 kHz and an output power of 2 W. The transformer is ideal for designs that require high isolation voltage and can be used with many gate driver controller ICs (either fixed or variable Frequencies) can be combined, allowing individual adaptation to other output voltages and applications.

The device is a compact flyback transformer designed to support high power density designs for greater efficiency. The device operates from a typical 12V supply with an extended input voltage range of 10V to 24V. The new mechanical design of the coil in this transformer also increases system performance and safety. The optimized feature set makes it perfect for use with SiC, IGBT and GaN switching elements in various automotive, industrial and energy storage applications.

The series flyback transformer is equipped with a center-tapped output that produces a ±5V supply to enable biasing of the gate driver enable and disable circuits.
