Project Houtrak, designed by Marcel Lok_Architect & Workshop Architects, is located at the end of the Oostburgervaart on the island of Oostenburg in Amsterdam. In recent years, the former industrial area has been transformed into a dynamic district with a mixture of residential and commercial buildings, Horeca and a hotel in recent years. The Houtrak complex consists of two buildings of 6-layer block with recycled Azobé wooden facades and solid wooden balconies that are aligned with the water, and a 4-layer volume with shed roofs, which are disguised with a black and brown metal facade and are oriented according to Isaac titkade and the Rumphiustraat.
