Text description provided by the architects. Guangdong is located at the foot of Nankun Mountain in Huizhou and serves as a key node in the “two-mount architecture art program”. Inspired by Su Dongpo's “sixteen joys of life in Huizhou”, especially on the verse “Visit of the mountains after Regen from a tower”, the project reacts poetically to the sensitive tensions between city and nature, memory and future. In a mountain forest, three light constructions are three calm questions into the landscape. These constructions neither prove the center nor dominate the height, but find their own order within fault lines, crevices and along the shift path and transform topographic waves into a rhythm of the room. The three constructions – Mountain post, pavilion of the hometown and cloud pavilion – are like gentle knocks on the door of the time that initiates a dialogue for millennia and a journey out of nature.
