Popular Boise Pond tests positively on dangerous bacteria

It is Finally Summer in the treasure Valley and for many of us this means that the river, ponds and beaches (yes, beaches) to beat Idaho. If you have children like me, you also know that it is one of the best ways to do the children for a quiet evening to enjoy the sun.

Be careful where you swim!

As we all know, you don't have to have children to have something in the sun. Perhaps it is the right way to enjoy a drink with your feet in the water or to meet one of the local ponds for a quick swimming to relax at the weekend.

However, if you visit Esther Simplot Park Pond 1 or Quinn's pond, you want to be particularly careful.

“Warning signs were released near the pier and the island at the Esther Simplot Park Pond 1 after the results of the water qualification tests were shown that show the E. coli bacterial levels that exceed the state standards,” said Boise Parks and Rec in a contribution to Facebook.

“While Quinn's pond and other areas of Teich 1, including the children's beach area, which have not exceeded state standards for a high degree of E. coli, are published in various places in the park to warn users and raise the public.”

The symptoms of E. coli can include diarrhea, bloody chair, stomach cramps and for older people, children and those with a weakened immune system and potential kidney failure.

What would make E. Coli present in our ponds?

In the comment area for the post of Boise Parks & Rec, several theories were created on the cause of the E. coli contamination, with most people blaming goose population.

“Keuchen the non-migration geese will solve the problem,” wrote one person.

“This happens every year. People talk about dogs. See all goose droppings! This is absolutely the problem,” wrote another.

One person went so far to blame E. coli to another perpetrator.

“It is also swimming diapers.”

While it is a suspicion for the matter, we can all agree on one thing: read the security signs before we come into the water.
