17 Ikea finds designers where they swear according to their own rooms

If fully custom furniture is not in your budget, you can buy inexpensive options from IKEA and adjust if possible. Designer Sam Sack did that to renovate her family's cottage. “After an increased Gypset atmosphere, I was with a very tight budget. To keep the costs low, I bought four inexpensive IKEA chairs that are similar to your Buskbo armchairs and then covered them in my favorite fabrics,” she explains. “The seat is a moss green and the rear pillows were a pleasure – covered by Lisa Fine Textiles in a beloved fabric.”

Säcke also bought a shelf unit from Ikea – a similar to the Elvarli system that they are still selling – and grabbed it for the great room of her cottage. “Ikea has some of the best mirrors for the price,” says Nozawa. “At almost seven foot, the Hovet mirror is an unbeatable bargain per square foot.” The clean, minimalist frame (available in aluminum or black) makes this IKEA mirror work in many ways through various design styles and types from eating rooms to gyms. Nozawa even has one in her own bedroom that leans against a hand -painted mural.

Fresh color and some chic hardware can change a simple Ikea kitchen, as demonstrated by interior designers in Austin Lizzie Pincoffs. “I bought my house during the real estate craze in 2020,” she says. “I worked with a small budget and knew that this section -kitchen cabinets are structurally great.” In their kitchen here, the Pincoffs let their cabinet manufacturers leave the existing cabinet shells and enforced the doors.
