Presented by China Oriental Performing Arts Group, the celebrated dance drama The journey of a legendary landscape painting contains this summer on a highly awaited North American tour. From July 17 to August 10, 2025, iconic production will adorn the stages of Vancouver, Seattle, Los Angeles and Houston and offer the audience an unforgettable experience with the spirit of classical Chinese art.
Inspired by a thousand li of rivers and mountains, the monumental landscape role of the northern song dynasty, the piece was rarely exhibited and never allowed abroad. The original scroll is made in lively blue-green mineral pigments, Wang Ximeng, and created by the amazing 18-year-old artist, Wang Ximeng. It remains an emblem of classic Chinese aesthetics and artistic transcendence.
A lyrical, time-ranking narrative of the drama follows a modern cultural historian who travels for nine centuries to meet the young artist. Together they illuminate the creative odyssey behind the painting.
