Balg Falls, vt. – The Canal Street Art Gallery presents the “Art as a way of life” Clare Adams and Alice Cheney Show, which is open from June 20 to August 10. The show “Art as a way of life” honors the late mentor Kaji of the two artists and shares new works of art, which have now been made four decades later, on the nature and use of fusion glass of Adams and Encaustic (Hot Wax Medium) by Cheney. “Mr. Asso saw” Nature “as an essential source of balance, satisfaction and a different way of seeing,” write Adams and Cheney in their commitment to the show.

Cheney based in Warren, Vt. Cheney's background in wood carving and painting on paper with ink and watercolor explains the consistency of the Encaustic wax. The work of the artist entitled “Snowy Out Out Out Season” is a painting of blurred and layered deeply colored green, yellow, blue and purple, which create a sharp leaf edge that is created by a hidden yellow, orange, red, red and white blossoms with long flowers, which are shown by a series of shapes, from and carefully drawn to Draw. In this piece, Cheney takes the central plate, which was often painted outside while listening to the birds, and then frames it with an encaustic border, in this case painted with numerous snow -covered owls. “Art as a way of life” is a tribute to ASO (1936-2006), which came from Japan to the USA in 1967, first to New York City, then to Vermont, and settled in Boston in 1973. Adams and Cheney first met in Japan in 1985 with ASO, where they discovered their similar aesthetic interests and their connection to Vermont and his rural landscape.
