Mot urges the public to take part in the "Transport Master Plan" survey
The Ministry of Transport (Mot) has asked the public to participate in its survey to develop the master plan for public transport in Qatar (QPTMP). This is intended to provide solutions that meet the society's transport needs. The surveys will be carried out by August 2025 at the U-Bahn, tram and bus stops, public markets and shopping centers in order to collect data on mobility preferences and opinions of people on public transport.

In an earlier statement, Mot said that it believes in the importance of participating in society and that it pays great attention to the fulfillment of its efforts in the QPTMP. “The mot is happy to invite the public, work with its poll teams and take a few minutes to answer the survey to ensure the accuracy of the collected data and help to achieve a better understanding of the needs of people in this regard,” says the explanation. All data collected are treated with full privacy and confidentiality and used exclusively for the purposes of the survey.

The QPTMP aims to improve the accessibility and reporting, increase the reliability of the service and to examine innovative mobility solutions that keep pace with the latest progress.

In order to deal with the conventional framework conditions, the QPTMP will strategically guide the development of the transit system in order to counter challenges in connection with escalating vehicle attachment, overload and environmental impact. The QPTMP will examine the status quo of traffic jams from both private vehicles and public transport as well as carbon emissions and the effects on the climate quality of Qatar in order to propose suitable solutions.

The QPTMP will also include prescribing guidelines, laws and regulations, which are accompanied by a robust surveillance program for integrated and comprehensive solutions, in which innovations meet the growing needs for a coherent, advanced and sustainable national public transport system.

The ripple effects of the QPTMP will have far-reaching social and ecological advantages that support healthier lifestyles that promote economic vitality and reduce the ecological footprint of urban expansion by reducing carbon emissions using intelligent transit solutions and rubber stamp obligation for sustainability.
