Soa faculty Poyao Shih's installation proposal for the formative water competition in the closer choice

An overall view of the water installation under St. John's Gate.

Faculty member of the school of the architecture Poyao Shih's design proposal “Floating Field” was drawn into a narrower choice in addition to fifteen other designs for the shaping water competition. In cooperation with Villeroy & Boch and the ideal standard of Dezeen organized, the competition made over 200 entries from 40 countries. Ideas for a large -scale installation invited, in which the essence of water for Clerkenwell Design Week was celebrated under St. John's Gate in London.

In the design proposal, Shih and his team, position studio, want to translate the transformation of Water into an abstract, formal typology and at the same time embody its properties through the transparency of the modules. While each module is combined with a layer of fluid water, the pavilion shows the water wealth of water in reflection and breaking. When visitors go through the gate, they experience the installation from several perspectives. Due to the natural visual effects generated by material and water, the reflections not only manifest themselves physically, but also remember a spiritual awareness of the constantly changing nature of water in their properties and shapes.
