Deadline extended for art installation at security gate at Betty Ehart Senior Activity Center

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Art in Public Places Board (APPB) has again extended the submission deadline for its art call to create a functional, artistic security gate for the Betty Ehart Senior Center.

Artists now have until Friday, January 17, 2025, 5 p.m. to submit their proposals. This will be the final expansion.

This commissioned piece will highlight the beauty of the space while meeting the safety and functionality requirements of the site. Artists are encouraged to bring their unique vision to the project and can draw inspiration from “Odetta,” KR (Cricket) Ernst’s artistic gateway at the Mesa Public Library. The gate selected must also have a county-provided emergency panic bar.
