The mayor of Sullivan County, Richard Venable, told News Channel 11 on Monday that he was confident that the district would secure a phase 2 for the project that could include a farmers' market, a new pavilion and the rubber of the route.
“The leisure opportunities here in the rural district of Sullivan are minimal, and we thought that this could be used by the entire district,” he said. “We have no parks and a REC group, we will have a planning for the use of these fields and the use of the facility such as the pickleball court.”
Funding for phase 2 has not yet been approved, but Venable said this could happen in autumn.

Yes Street & Associates was selected as a contractor for the project, and Barge Design Solutions is the architecture and engineering office for the project.
The contract amounts to USD 4.98 million, including the basic offer of the company of $ 4,635,000. The district said that additional working bidders were asked to serve the following as alternative costs: $ 141,000 for pickleball courts, $ 95,000 for open-air accommodation in addition to the pickle balls, $ 68,000 for pickleball ball lighting, $ 26,000 for decorative fence, $ 16,000 for an error pump.
The contract requires the conclusion of the construction of phase 1 within 250 calendar days from the official start date of the project on April 15.
“I understand that 250 days will take us to December 23, and this will be a bit of a Christmas present for Sullivan County,” said Venable.
