The system offers the municipality free access to drinking water.

“Water is of essential importance for life, our drinks and the communities that we serve,” said Flora Jika, General Manager of Voltic.

“We want to promote water responsibility in our business in order to increase the efficiency of water consumption and treat safe water in the communities.

“Together with partners, the Coca-Cola system is investing in water initiatives that benefit nature and communities.

“Projects that we support aim to build long -term resilience and improve water security in local communities,” concluded Jika.

These efforts are in line with a broader effort from the Coca-Cola company in Africa and its partners.

In September 2024, the Coca-Cola Company, together with the filling partner CCBA, the Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company (ECCBC) and Coca-Cola HBC, announced an investment of almost $ 25 million, which offers to be managed by critical water-related challenges in local communities in 20 African countries.

The work is managed by the Global Water Challenge (GWC) and implemented by a consortium by partners, including The Nature Conservancy (TNC), the International Union for Nature Conservation (IUCN) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

This initiative from 2024 and until 2030 underlines the importance of improving water responsibility.
