The works of art by Wiradjuri Ms. Hannah Lange are incredibly detailed and time -consuming. She wouldn't have it any other way, because everyone connects them to the country and stories that have to be told.
“I owe a lot of my driving force of one of my aunts, who unfortunately is no longer with us. She was part of the stolen generation and her story remains with me, ”explains Hannah.
“How she has withdrawn her identity, culture and family from her … Every day it drives me to continue to be proud to share our culture with the world.”
Hannah's unique contemporary style also enables her to share her own experiences and her personal relationship with the country.
Their recent work, “Yuranha”, researches the constant movement and development of the country – of the changing sandstone and clay cliff faces in the blue mountains, until the bark switched off on a tree – and we are thrilled to present this beautiful collection of Paintings as the first TDF exhibition for 2025.
'Yuranha' is the Wiradjuri word for 'grow', which Hannah says that the pieces in this exhibition and its constantly developing style summarize perfectly.
“I have inspired myself from the country's constant transformation and examined more movement and fluidity in my work,” she says.
“The cycle of nature is a mighty metaphor, a renewal, change and the lessons that we can learn from the country.”
