BMC, OREDA tie for the installation of solar-powered water kiosks in Bhubaneswar before the summer

BHUBANESWAR: The BHUBANESWAR Municipal Corporation (BMC) worked with the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (Orda) to install solar -powered water kiosks at various locations in the city this summer.

An official said around 120 with sun drive drive water kiosks are set up under the Bhubaneswar Green City mission to supply the citizens clean and cool drinking water.

With the procedure of summer, the company has strategically planned to install the kiosks in high footstorms such as bus stops, markets, Aahaar centers, religious institutions and main roads in order to ensure easy access to drinking water. Each kiosk is equipped with a solar-powered filtration and cooling system to ensure constant supply of cleaned water without relying on the conventional power source.

Water kiosks are currently being found in 12 locations near the Aahaar Kendra, Ouat Hostel, Begunia Mosque, Dumduma Pala Mandap, Sum Hospital Aahaar Center, Nayapali Uphc, Kasturba Playground (No. 37), Damana Square Mo Bay and Dave Bay and Dave Bay, Dumduma Pala Mandap used school concept in Chandrasekharpur. Civil works were completed by two other kiosks near Kalyani Market and Kolathia Laxmi Mandap.
