If you can’t get your guides exactly where you want in Photoshop, try the following trick. Hold the Shift button while dragging the guide, it will automatically snap to the nearest line on the ruler.
A quick way to change the measurement units in an Illustrator or Photoshop document is by right clicking (on pc) or ctrl+click (on mac) on a ruler (ctrl+r / cmd+r) and then choose a different unit .

STEP 1: Create a new document with a slightly larger dimensions than the normal ones. I used a 500 x 500px. Using a Rectangular Shape tool, create a square as shown below. It can be of any color. I used a chocolate brown color.
To create a new adjustment layer, select Layer > New Adjustment Layer > the desired adjustment
When a Photohop layer is selected, you can very quickly change it’s opacity by pressing a numeric key to change its value. For example, hitting 4 will bring the layer’s opacity to 40%.
One thing I like to do quite often is to try getting more control over my layers styles, for this it is very simple: just turn it into an independant layer.
